Hi, I’m Dr Femke Ellens, a Dutch doctor based near Barcelona.
I studied medicine at the University of Maastricht and have worked across Europe. From founding a health centre in Cyprus to providing care in Spain, I bring international experience and a warm, human approach to every consultation.
I believe good healthcare is personal, preventative, and empowering. Whether it’s a minor issue, chronic disease, or lifestyle-related concern, I look at the whole person, not just the illness.

I speak Dutch, English, Spanish, and German, and I understand the challenges of navigating a healthcare system in a new country. I also provide personal guidance for the Spanish healthcare system — from referrals to prescriptions and everything in between.

Can I use my insurance?
Yes! While I don’t have direct agreements, most private or travel insurances reimburse 80–100% depending on your policy.
What are your working hours?
My working hours are Monday - Thursday from 10:00h till 16:00h.
Can I reschedule or cancel my appointment?
Yes, you can cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours in advance. After that, the full fee is charged, as your slot has been reserved just for you.
What should I do in case of an emergency?
For any emergency, please call 112 or go to your nearest hospital. My services are designed for non-emergency care.
